Marching Songs
Decision Height features 10 marching songs that are meant to be performed live by the ensemble cast. Unfortunately since we were performing over Zoom singing live wasn't an option. The alternative I devised was to record the actors performing the songs to maintain the authenticity and heart of the songs. However, because of COVID restrictions I couldn't record the actors singing in a group. So I created a sample recording of myself singing each song that I sent to the actors to rehearse. Then when I recorded them the actors played the recordings in their headphones so they could keep the same pace as the song required. I recorded over 110 tracks in one day. These are a few examples of the songs I mixed and recorded compared to the original recordings form the WASPs and a recording of Silent Night that I arranged to create the effect of a group of carolers. The gallery below includes screenshots of the Audition sessions where I assembled the voices together.
